About us

The “Ethics in Finance Prize” is a project of the Observatoire de la Finance (Geneva).

The Observatoire de la Finance, a non-profit foundation, has been working since 1996 on the relationship between the ethos of the financial activities and its impact on society. The Observatoire aims to raise awareness in the financial sector of the need to pursue the common good by striving to conciliate the good of persons, of organisations and of the community.

The Prize is organized and managed by dr. Virgile Perret as under the supervision of Prof. Paul Dembinski.

Mrs. Josina Kamerling (Head of regulatory outreach for CFA Institute for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa) based in Brussels co-chairs the Jury of the Prize together with , Prof. Paul Dembinski – Director of the Observatoire de la Finance.

Professor Paul Dembinski

CO-DIRECTOR OF THE PRIZE AND DIRECTOR OF THE OBSERVATOIRE DE LA FINANCE

Prof. Paul H. Dembinski is the initiator and Director of the Foundation of the Observatoire de la Finance. In parallel, he is partner and co-founder (with Alain Schoenenberger) of Eco’Diagnostic, an independent economic research institute working for both government and private clients in Switzerland and elsewhere. Paul H. Dembinski is also Professor at the University of Fribourg.

Dr. Virgile Perret

PROJECT MANAGER

Dr. Virgile Perret holds a Ph.D in Political Science from the University of Lausanne, for which he was awarded the Prize of the Faculty in 2013. He’s specialized in the study of digital currencies and technological innovation from an interdisciplinary perspective. He collaborated with the European Commission, the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the State of Vaud. He contributes to the organization of the Prize since 2018.

Hannah Soissons

ADMINISTRATOR OF THE PRIZE

Hannah Soissons obtained a Master’s degree in Economics and Finance, with a specialization in Statistical and Economics Studies, in France. She works at the Observatoire de la Finance on differents projects, including managing the administration of the Prize since 2011.

Nati Garcia

ADMINISTRATOR OF THE PRIZE

Nati studied in Geneva where she graduated in History and European Studies. Her professional career has centred around communications and event management for both public sector organisations and private sector firms. These have included the Observatoire de la Finance, Logistica de Actos SL and the School for Arabic Studies. She currently works in Accenture. She has coordinated the administration of the Prize since 2012.
